However we British also like our traditional high street shops so you will find Marks & Spencer and Debenhams stores here. Up the hill to Ktima (upper Pafos) you will find an abundance of shops. Here is a fascinating mélange of East meets West fashion! At Markarios Avenue you will usually find a stall selling a delicious local delicacy called” Loukoumades” - tiny honey dipped doughballs (a bit like small sweet doughnuts). The indoor market is packed with interesting stalls selling spices, lace & fabrics, snacks and local honey. The outside stalls are mainly farmers selling direct to the public. It is a thriving, bustling place. Like others you may feel this is the perfect location to purchase a holiday villa, as Paphos is Cyprus at its best. Of course, all these variety of places to visit and shops are on display under the glorious sunshine. 340 days of sunshine considerably enhances the attraction!
