Why I Use Dwarf Fruit Trees

My husband and I recently moved into our dream house. I was so excited to get into it. Everything was perfect; we had the most beautiful fireplace and high vaulted ceilings. It was our dream come true. However, the yard was so bare and lacking.

I may not be much of a gardener, but I really wanted to create a landscape that would be just as beautiful as the inside of the gorgeous house. A friend suggested dwarf fruit trees. I shrugged at her and said I had no idea what in the world that was.

She showed me a picture online of the cutest little apple trees you could ever imagine, and I instantly loved the idea. I did some reading up and was excited to learn that apart from something to support them, they needed little maintenance. Dwarf fruit trees don't require much pruning, and they are easier to protect from the frost and birds than the larger types of fruit trees.

After picking up several different varieties and planning the layout of the trees, my husband and I got to work. Before too long, we had planted them behind the lower plants in my planned garden. They were in a nice little row, and I had spaced them approximately 18 inches apart. They were held in place by stakes.

Once we were done with that, we planted lower standing flowers and plants. I am in love with those dwarf fruit trees. Now, when guests come to my home, they are greeted by adorable fruit trees full of gorgeous color and bright fruit, along with my other cheery flowers. I'm really glad that my friend suggested them!
